Cyclonic Region - Wind Borne Debris
In cyclonic areas of Australia, the design of a building needs to allow for a full internal pressure which puts positive and/or negative pressure on the building due to wind either entering the building or being sucked out of the building.
A consideration that has to made when the building is designed is securing the openings, like storm covers on the windows, wind locks on the roller doors, and ensuring that the cladding has been tested for penetration by wind borne debris, thus creating an opening for the wind to enter and leave the building.
The first two of these items are relatively easy to comply with, as both can be sourced from various suppliers nationwide.
The last one, regarding Wind Borne Debris is harder to comply with as none of the major suppliers of steel cladding have tested their products, or at least published their findings.
Capital Steel is proud to announce that we now have results from testing carried out on Lysaght's Custom Orb and Trimdek profile cladding.
What does this mean to you?
It means that fully enclosed buildings, provided by CSB, including storm covers on windows and wind locks on the roller doors, can be designed using the certified cladding provided by CSB, with a lower internal pressure co-efficient, due to the testing carried out, and subsequently a lighter frame can be used, which can be proven to meet the Australian Code.
The net result is that we can provide a CSB building at a keener price than our competitors, and we can be fully confident that our product will met the test of time and the test of mother nature.

Distributor Software Training Day.
Software training was run on the 7th April. (Always the first Tuesday of the month - every month)
We had a couple of not so new distributors attend for a refresher course. At the end of the day, they all had positive feedback for us, particularly with the automated engineering package which was demonstrated for them.
"I think we learn as much as they did from the training" said Mark Keegan who conducted the training for the first time. "I had my pet likes and dislikes in the software, but I found that each distributor has a different view on what is required, and what they found important" he said.
The overall view was that the new changes made to the software were making things easier for them and saving them time and money at time of ordering.
The next Distributor Software Training Day will be on 5th May. All distributors are welcome to attend.

New Brochures now available.
The new CSB brochures are now available for pre-order.
They can be viewed in the Brochure Download section of the web site.
The brochures have been tailored to three specific markets.
Yardspace - Domestic products brochure
Farmspace - Rural products brochure

We are hoping that in producing 3 distinct brochures, you may save some money on sending a 12 brochure, covering all of the various products, which are available to you. You can now send the brochure that covers your customer's requirements.
A form with be circulated next week with a desired quantity required by each distributor.
Once we have numbers back for all distributors, we will send them for printing.
